Coyhaique River Lodge is well known for its fly fishing reputation, but you don't need to be an angler to enjoy the pristine beauty of this part of Chilean Patagonia and the comfort of our lodge. Groups are limited to 10 guests per week, with bilingual fishing guides (one guide per 1 to 2 guests).

  • Fishing gear:
  • - Waders and wading boots
  • - Lightweight waterproof rain jacket
  • - Polarized sunglasses and a hat
  • - 2 rods ideally — a #5 and a #6/7, 9 ft
  • - Leaders and tippet 4x-1x, 9 ft
  • - Floating line (rod 5) and sinking line (rod 7, 150-250 gr)
  • - Fishing license
  • Suggested dry flies: Adams, Parachute Adams, Humpys, Royal Wolf, Elk Hair Caddis, Madam X, Stimulator, Royal Trude, Chernobyl Ants, Hoppers
  • Suggested nymphs: Prince, Copper John, Pheasant Tail
  • Suggested streamers: Bead heads, Woolly Buggers (black, white, olive green, egg sucking leech)
